Saturday, December 8 and Sunday, December 9, at the invitation of the musée de l’Armée, the Fanfare of the École d’Application d’Artillerie de Draguignan will celebrate Saint Barbara’s Day in the Cour d’Honneur of the Invalides at 2 :00 pm.
On the occasion of the 220th anniversary of the Battle of Valmy (1792), join us for music and artillery demonstrations (including manoeuvers of a Gribeauval field artillery system horse drawn gun carriage and a howitzer and the presentation of the MISTRAL weapon system and a CAESAR self-propelled howitzer. A DRAC Drone will also be on exhibit. 35 gunners, 30 fusiliers, 18 musicians, 7 horses, 4 guns, 1 portable military forge and 1 drone will be brought together for public’s enjoyment.
Schedule :
- 2:00 pm: Soldiers sitting around a campfire next to a portable military forge.
- 2:30 pm: Serenade by the Fanfare of the École d’Application d’Artillerie de Draguignan.
- 3:00 pm: The field artillery manoeuvers start with the Line Infantry Platoon of the French Revolution marching to the rhythm of the music, followed by manoeuvring operations of a Gribeauval system howitzer and horse drawn gun carriage. Demonstrations of a MISTRAL weapon system and a CAESAR self-propelled howitzer. A DRAC drone will complete this presentation.
- 4:00 pm: Discussions between artists and the public.
