From 26 January 2016 to 4 April 2016, you are invited to discover our commemorative documentary exhibition: Verdun 1916: the “Hyperbataille”.
A series of 28 panels will be exhibited on the pillars of the Cour d’Honneur of the Hotel des Invalides on the occasion of the centennial of the Battle of Verdun which took place from 21 February 2016 to 18 December 2016. Discover this new exhibition dedicated to one of the bloodiest and most ferocious battles of the Great War. A full panorama of the Battle of Verdun – a battle that was outside the norm – will be presented on the pillars all around the Cour d’Honneur of the Hôtel des Invalides. It will include comments on the main milestones of its Construction of Memory, from the voluntary initiatives led by WWI veterans to the place of Memory for Franco-German Reconciliation.
This not-to-be missed exhibition has been awarded the “Verdun 2016” label included in the official programme of the First World War Centenary Mission.
Free-of-charge admission.
