- November 14, 2012, at 2:00 pm : “Get out your Handkerchiefs! ” A special exhibition tour for children (7-12 years).
Riddles and guessing games will capture the children’s attention as they tour the exhibition and objects that served as inspiration for the design of each handkerchief will be fully explained to them.
- November 24, 2012, at 2:30 pm : “Constable Anne, Duke de Montmorency”
A story telling guided tour of the Arms and Armour Department for children (7-12 years). The story of the life of this magnificent soldier who served three kings provides an opportunity to evoke the reigns of Francis I, Henri II and Charles IX as well as the Battles of Marignano (1515) and Pavia (1525).
- November 28, 2012, at 2:00 pm. “Bless you ! Design your own handkerchief”
A special temporary exhibition workshop for children (7-12 years). After a quick tour of the exhibition, the fabrication and use of handkerchiefs won’t hold any secret to the children. Finding their inspiration in the representation and themes seen in the exhibition, they will in turn design their own handkerchief.
- December 1, 2012, at 2:30 pm. “The Pensionner Jacques Vallot de la Rosière”
A story telling guided tour of the “Hôtel royal des Invalides” during the reign of Louis XIV (1643-1715). For children (7-12 years). The history of the Hôtel is told through paintings depicting the Franco-Dutch War (1672-78), portraits of Louis the Great and numerous and varied symbols perpetuating his royal image, all of which can be found in the Hôtel.
