After the National Archaeology Days (19-21 June), discover the new web series “Archaeology and the musée de l’Armée”.
In partnership with the French National Institute for Preventive Archaeology Research (INRAP), the musée de l’Armée supports National Archaeology Days with a new web series presenting the amazing and yet unexpected treasures of the archaeological collections of this major institution dedicated to military history. Scientific methods bring a new vision and provide moving testimonials regarding violence in armed conflict, the material culture and sanitary conditions of the fighters, from Prehistoric times to the present day. From the “invention” of the prehistoric man to the “dumpsters” of the Allied Breakout From Normandy, including Etruscan tombs, the training camps for troops of Louis XIV or the mass graves of the Great Army following its retreat from Russia, discover the hidden archaeological treasures of the musée de l’Armée.
